About SBI Focused equity fund: 

 

It is an open-ended scheme which aims to provide the investor opportunities for long term capital appreciation by investing in a concentrated portfolio of equity and equity related instruments. It mainly invests in a minimum of 65% in equity and equity related instruments spanning across market capitalization. 

 

Pros and Cons of SBI Focused equity Fund:  

 

  • The scheme has outperformed both the index and category in terms of return for a ten-year period (17.82%). 

  •  It has completely beaten the multicap fund category over the past decade.  

  • Its risk is lower as compared to the benchmark.

Inception/launch date:  

 

The scheme was launched on 11 OCT 2004. It was previously known as the SBI Emerging Business Fund. 

 

Risk Level: 

 

The fund risk return profile is quite high and quite superior to its peers. Despite being an aggressive fund, the scheme is quite good in terms of delivering returns. 

 

Redemption:  

 

The minimum redemption units are 100 and the amount should be Rs 1000. The cut off time is 3 PM for redemption based on the same days. 

 

Fund Manager:  

 

R Srinivasan has been the fund manager of the SBI Focused Equity Fund. Currently he is heading the head of equity and manages several funds. He has more than two and a half decades of experience in equities domain. Previously, he was associated with Future Capital Holding, Principal PNB, Blackstone, Motilal Oswal and among others. He is post graduate in commerce and an MFM degree from the university of Mumbai.  

 

Entry/Exit Load:  

 

They basically charged 1%, if the units are redeemed within 1 year from the date of allotment of units. There will be no exit load if charged beyond 1 year. There is no entry charge by the scheme.
